When rainwater accumulates in the containment unit’s sump, it compromises the unit’s ability to effectively contain spills. Essentially, for each gallon of rainwater collected in the sump, there is a corresponding reduction in the capacity to contain chemicals, fuels, or hazardous materials.

Addressing this issue is the Ultra-Bund Accessories Self-Bailer. This accessory is designed to seamlessly attach to any spill containment unit, usually through a bulkhead fitting. It allows rainwater to drain through while filtering out any residual oil, gas, or hydrocarbons, ensuring that only clean water is released. In the event of a spill, the self-bailer activates, sealing off completely to prevent any liquid from escaping.
